The mission of NewInBridge, the new BridgeTopics.com, is to develop, market and sell digital bridge products, communicate bridge news and feature bridge tournaments and festivals. NIB is committed to improve these services continuously.
Eric is the chief bridge theorist of NewInBridge. He is the editor of each Topic and the author of the majority of the Topics (tutorials on modern bridge theory). Eric has a longstanding reputation for his contributions to modern bridge theory. He developped Support Doubles and Redoubles, Serious NoTrump and many more conventions. With many world titles behind his name Eric is one of the most successful bridgeplayers in history. He therefore can be considered as the anchorman of BridgeTopics.com. In 2001 Bridgematters.com made an extensive interview with Eric which clarifies his ideas on bridge. Eric picked up bridge at the age of eleven and loved the game immediately. He started studying the game when he was fourteen, reading all sorts of books about Blue Team Club, Precision, and works by Reese, Kantar, and others. Later when he began playing with Jeff Meckstroth he realized that there were major gaps in understanding about bidding in particular. This guided him to a long study of bidding conventions and principles that continues to this day. Eric lives with his wife Donna in Florida and in summertime, in North-Carolina.
