The semi-finals of the Bermuda Bowl between Poland and England had a dramatic finish. For a long time Poland was on lead but England was fighting its way back. The match was decided on the very last board with a double partscore in favour of Poland. But it was not over yet. Board 4 from Round V was under review. According to the English side one of the Polish players took advantage of a long pause by his partner during the bidding. It all led to a vulnerable 6D which needed a miracle to make. An it did made! The WBF review committee however saw no reason to change the result. Poland entered the finals of the Bermuda Bowl, where it plays 128 boards against Sweden. The English players of course were not amused. Check the VIDEO what David Gold has to say about the hand. He was one of the victims of the unlucky lay-out. And HERE is the video of the match. At 50.18 young Michal Klukowski started his pause of 6 minutes and 20 seconds.
